Keep Calm on July 4th

Fireworks and the 4th of July go hand-in-hand. However, the same can't be said for many of our pets.

Fireworks can be dangerous for our pets. Aside from the risk of injury, some pets do not react well to the sights and sounds of fireworks. Many pets experience anxiety when it comes to loud noises like fireworks.

There is a rise in the number of dogs that run away during firework season, especially on the 4th of July. For this reason it is best to keep your pets safe inside during this time.

While they're inside, they still may exhibit signs of anxiety due to the booms coming from outside. These signs of anxiety may include:

  • Panting
  • Shaking
  • Drooling
  • Whining
  • Pacing or restlessness
  • Hiding
  • Destructive behavior

There are a variety of products on the market that can help our pets keep calm during this stressful time.

King Kalm CBDCBD and hemp oil is big right now. CBD and hemp oil help alleviate stress and anxiety in pets. This comes in two forms - liquid and treats. Liquid can be given directly into the mouth or added to food. Treats are... treats. Both types provide therapeutic qualities to help calm our furry friends.

There are other products that you can use to help calm pets in your house. Comfort zone is a product that plugs into the wall and helps reduce anxious behavior in pets. Think of it like an essential oil diffuser that people would use for themselves.

Another popular product is a Thundershirt. A Thundershirt is a tight shirt that wraps around your pet. It's like a constant hug for them. It's wrapped tight and calms them down.
