We sell a lot of Fromm here, so I want to make sure this one didn't slip past anybody.
On August 21, 2026, Fromm Family Foods recalled two of its canned dog foods after customers found pieces of metal in the cans. Fromm says no dogs have been reported sick or hurt, and no other Fromm products are part of it. Still...if you stocked up on cans this summer, it's worth two minutes to go look.
Which cans are recalled
- Fromm Turkey Pâté Wet Dog Food, 12.2 oz can, UPC 072705118700, lot code EP2A3306 551006
- Fromm Diner Classics Milo's Meatloaf Pâté Wet Dog Food, 12.5 oz can, UPC 072705132324, lot code EP2A3306 551029
Both have a Best By date of March 2029 (it's printed as 032029). Look for the lot code and date printed on the can. If your lot code is different, your can is not part of this recall and you're fine.
If you have one of these cans
- Stop feeding it. Set the whole lot aside, even the cans that look perfectly normal.
- Bring it back to the store where you bought it. If that was us, bring it to the counter or call us at 732-938-4470 and we'll help you sort it out.
- If your dog already ate some and you notice choking, vomiting, not wanting to eat, low energy or a sore belly, call your vet.
You can also reach Fromm directly at 1-800-325-6331 (Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm Central) or info@frommfamily.com.
Not sure about a can?
Bring it in. We'll read the code with you right at the counter...those little printed numbers aren't always easy to find, and that's what we're here for.
Fromm says this recall covers only those two lots, so the rest of their cans, like the Seafood Medley Pâté, are not affected. You can see everything we carry from them on our Fromm page.
Why we post recalls
We've been feeding pets in this town since 1987, and we'd rather you hear about a recall from us than find out the hard way. When something affects a brand we sell, we'll post it here with the exact lot codes, plain and simple. If you're ever unsure about something in your pantry, just call.
