Stella & Chewy's Wild Weenies Grain Free Beef Recipe Freeze-Dried Dog Treats
Beef, beef liver, beef kidney. Three beef components, and this is the only one of the seven Wild Weenies recipes that includes kidney.
The whole list is five items
- Beef
- Beef Liver
- Beef Kidney
- Sodium Alginate (the binder)
- Mixed Tocopherols (preservative)
Every other recipe in the line runs muscle meat plus one organ, or a multi-species blend. This one runs muscle plus two organs, all three ahead of the binder. Stella puts it at 97% beef and organs.
If organ content is part of why you buy raw, that's a real difference and it's checkable. Kidney in particular turns up in very little else on the treat shelf.
A clean single-species list, which isn't true across this line
Beef is the only animal species in it, and nothing animal-derived sits behind the binder. Worth knowing, because the names in this line don't tell you. We read all seven:
| Wild Weenies recipe | Species actually in the list |
|---|---|
| Beef | beef only |
| Chicken | chicken only |
| Lamb | lamb only |
| Bac'n Me Crazy | pork and beef, both named on the bag |
| Duck | duck, plus turkey liver |
| Red Meat | beef, goat, lamb |
| Game Bird | turkey, duck, quail |
Three of the seven are genuinely one species. The Bac'n Me Crazy recipe has two and says so. The other three don't, and their names won't warn you... the duck recipe lists turkey liver second, Game Bird is turkey-led with duck and quail behind the binder, and Red Meat is beef-led with goat and lamb behind the binder.
One thing that follows from that: Stella's Red Meat recipe is nutritionally almost identical to this one, 40% protein in both and 32% fat against 31%, 14 calories a treat in both. The goat and lamb in that recipe sit behind the binder and barely move the numbers. So if your dog likes these, the Red Meat version is a flavor change rather than a different food... but it does contain lamb, which matters if you're avoiding it.
Where it sits on richness
40% protein, 31% fat, 14 calories a treat at 4,561 kcal/kg. Second-leanest of the seven, behind the chicken.
| Wild Weenies recipe | Protein | Fat | kcal/treat |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chicken | 40% | 26% | 13 |
| Beef | 40% | 31% | 14 |
| Red Meat | 40% | 32% | 14 |
| Bac'n Me Crazy | 38% | 34% | 14 |
| Lamb | 37% | 36.94% | 15 |
| Duck | 38% | 37% | 15 |
| Game Bird | 38% | 37% | 15 |
Tied for the highest protein in the line. At 31% fat a dog on a low-fat diet or with a pancreatitis history still needs a vet's view first... the chicken recipe is the leaner option at 26% fat and 13 calories a treat.
About the sodium alginate
A binder derived from seaweed, present in all seven Wild Weenies recipes. It's what gives these their shape and chew instead of being a crumbly chunk of meat.
Its position is how you read these labels: anything listed after it is present in a smaller amount than the binder. Nothing animal falls after it here, which is the whole reason this list reads cleanly.

How many to give
Stella publishes no treat count and no dog-size guidance for Wild Weenies. The general rule is to keep treats to around 10% of daily calories, and the published per-treat figure makes that workable... ten of these is 140 calories, most of a small dog's treat allowance for a day. Your vet can tell you your dog's daily number.
Also on the label
Grain free, with no corn, wheat or soy. Stella doesn't print a pea-free, lentil-free or potato-free statement on any Wild Weenies recipe the way they do on their patties... what we can tell you is that none of those three appears anywhere in this five-item list.
Sizes
3.25 oz and 11.5 oz. The beef and chicken recipes are the two Stella currently publishes sizes for, and both offer the larger bag... worth knowing if this becomes your everyday training treat.
Storage and serving
Shelf-stable, no refrigeration needed. Break pieces down for a small dog and give with fresh water nearby. Supervise, as with any treat.
On the label statement
Stella publishes no AAFCO statement for this product, and no "for intermittent or supplemental feeding only" line, which is what you'd normally expect on a treat. Its absence doesn't make it a complete food. Ask us if you want it confirmed off the bag.
