Hay amounts are recommended minimums; if feeding more hay, the Ultium Growth rate may be reduced to maintain body condition. Do not feed less than 0.35 lb/100 lb BW for gestating mares, 0.50 lb/100 lb BW for lactating mares, or 0.75 lb/100 lb BW per day for growing horses; if the horse gains too much at the minimum, transition to Purina Enrich Plus. Lactating mares: minimum hay 2 lb per 100 lb BW per day. Use the lower rate for moderate growth, higher rate for more rapid growth. Suckling foals: begin offering within two weeks of birth at 1.0 lb per month of age per day. May top-dress with Purina Amplify for extra calories. A 4 lb meal supplies a full serving of Outlast. Do not feed more than 0.5 lb/100 lb BW per meal. Feed at regular times, at least twice daily; do not feed free-choice. Always feed at least 1.0-1.2 lb quality hay or pasture equivalent per 100 lb body weight. Make feed changes gradually over 7-10 days. Provide fresh clean water and salt at all times. Store dry, protected from rodents and insects; do not feed moldy or insect-infested feed. Feeding added selenium resulting in total diet levels above 0.3 ppm is prohibited.
