When a standard crate is not enough, this is the step up. The MidWest Solutions 54 inch crate is a heavy-duty, double door crate made for the largest breeds, with construction that is a different class from the light folding crates sold online.
Each door, front and side, closes with three slide-bolt latches, and each latch has a reinforcing hook that seats behind a vertical wire. The panels are joined without bolts: hooks plus four drop-pin corner rods lock the bottom, sides, top, front and back together into one rigid box. A removable plastic pan slides in from the front against a pan stop for cleaning.
Why Your Dog Will Love It
- A secure den of their own
- Calm, safe downtime
- Training made easier
Features
- Front door and side door
- Three slide-bolt latches on each door, with reinforcing hooks
- Bolt-free panel construction locked with four drop-pin corner rods
- Removable plastic pan with pan stop
- Sized for giant breeds
Built Right: Why the Crate You Choose Matters
MidWest states that every crate, exercise pen and wire product it makes is tested for coating adhesion, rust resistance, lead, adherence to wire gauge and mesh standards, weld strength, and overall durability and function. That testing is the difference you are paying for. A bargain crate can cost more in the long run: weak welds, thin coatings that rust, a single latch a determined dog can work loose, and a pan that cracks or leaks. Every MidWest crate and pen is also backed by a one-year limited manufacturer's warranty against defects in workmanship and materials.

Care and Safe Use
Clean only with a mild, non-abrasive cleaner and water; abrasive materials can damage the finish. Keep the plastic pan out of long periods of direct sunlight. Assembly takes two people. Make sure each latch bolt slides fully closed so its hook sits behind the vertical wire. Remove your dog's collar, tags and leash before crating.
