Know Before You Buy
- Animal proteins in this recipe: Farm-raised rabbit (rabbit, rabbit liver, rabbit kidney, rabbit lung), chicken (chicken, chicken heart, chicken liver), salmon oil.

FreshDried Patés Rabbit is farm-raised rabbit, freeze-dried raw and ready to become a fresh pâté with a splash of water or broth. It's Instinct's shelf-stable alternative to canned food... no high-heat processing, and you decide on the texture, from thick to soupy.
What's actually in it
Rabbit is the first ingredient, and rabbit liver, kidney and lung appear further down. Chicken, chicken heart and chicken liver come in at second through fourth, so chicken is a big part of the protein. Ground flaxseed, pumpkin seeds and salmon oil bring fats and omega fatty acids. Ground miscanthus grass adds fiber, and carrots, apples, butternut squash, blueberries and spinach round it out. There are no peas, potatoes or grains.
Who it suits, and who it doesn't
It suits a healthy adult cat that likes pâté and enjoys rabbit, and families who want a raw option that lives in the pantry instead of the freezer.
Because of the chicken, it isn't a choice for a cat that needs to avoid chicken, and the salmon oil means it isn't fish-free. Calorie content
Calorie content (calculated): ME = 4,396 kcal/kg ... 198 kcal per cup. A cup means a standard 8-fluid-ounce dry measuring cup, filled level, measured before you add water. It measures volume, not 8 ounces by weight, so scoop it rather than weigh it.
Feeding guidelines
Instinct's published daily amounts for adult cats, in cups of dry food per day, with the water or broth to mix in. Instinct's guidance is to mix ⅓ cup water or broth for every 1 cup dry food, adjusting based on your pet's preference.

These are starting points, not prescriptions. Ideal amounts depend on age, weight and activity level. Split the day's amount into meals, mix each one fresh, and pick up anything left after 2 hours. Check your cat's body condition after two or three weeks... ribs easy to feel under a thin layer, a waist visible from above... and adjust. Always keep fresh water out.
Switching over
Instinct's advice for cats new to raw: introduce raw over a period of 5 to 7 days, mixing increasing amounts of raw while decreasing current food. Going slowly gives your cat's stomach time to adjust.
Sizes, and how many cups you get
We carry the 13 oz bag, which holds roughly 8 level cups of dry food before you add water. For a 10 lb adult cat eating 1¼ cups a day on maintenance, that's about 6 days. Cup counts are worked out from Instinct's published calorie figures and are close estimates.
Storage
Keep the bag sealed tight and somewhere cool and dry between meals. Once you add water or broth, serve it right away and discard any leftovers after 2 hours. Wash hands, bowls and utensils after handling, as you would with any raw meat.
