Fromm Nutritionals Immunity Dog Food Supplement Pâté

Fromm Nutritionals Immunity Dog Food Supplement Pâté

Immunity pâté is a mix-in from Fromm's Nutritionals line for families who want to add antioxidant-rich ingredients to their dog's bowl. Fromm Family Foods, the family-owned company in Mequon, Wisconsin, designed it with cranberries, blueberries, carrots, turmeric, vitamin C, cinnamon and vitamin E to help maintain a healthy immune system.

What's actually in it

Chicken, chicken broth and salmon lead the list, followed by brown rice, cranberries, blueberries, chicken liver and carrots. Fromm adds ascorbic acid (vitamin C), turmeric and cinnamon, and guarantees vitamin E and vitamin C levels in the analysis below. Fromm includes the naturally occurring antioxidants in the fruits and vegetables to help support your dog's immune system.

Salmon oil and flaxseed add omega fatty acids, which are guaranteed on the label too. Yucca schidigera extract and dried egg product appear further down, and xanthan gum and agar-agar set the pâté.

Who it suits, and who it doesn't

It suits dogs of any breed or age whose families want to add Fromm's antioxidant-focused ingredients to a complete food they already like. It's also a tasty way to make a plain bowl of kibble more exciting. It is not a complete meal on its own, so it always goes alongside a complete and balanced food.

It isn't the right can for a dog avoiding chicken, fish or egg. If your dog has a diagnosed health or medical condition, please feed this under your veterinarian's guidance. If you're unsure, our Personal Pet Consultant is happy to help ... call 732-938-4470.

Feeding guidelines

Fromm's daily feeding recommendation: "Supplement your dog's existing diet with 1/3 can of Fromm Family Nutritionals® Immunity Dog Food Supplement Pâté per 10 lbs. of body weight." Fromm adds a reminder to decrease the portion of your dog's existing food to avoid overfeeding.

Worked out from that rule: a 10 lb dog gets about ⅓ can a day, a 30 lb dog about 1 can, and a 60 lb dog about 2 cans. Check your dog's body condition after two or three weeks... ribs easy to feel under a thin layer, a waist visible from above... and adjust the regular food. Always keep fresh water out.

Switching over

Change foods gradually over about a week. Start with roughly a quarter the Immunity pâté mixed into the old food, move to half, then three quarters, then all the Immunity pâté. Going slowly gives your dog's stomach time to adjust. Since this goes on top of your dog's regular food, you can simply start with a smaller spoonful and build up to Fromm's amount over the week.

Sizes, and how long a case lasts

Sold by the single 13 oz can. At Fromm's ⅓ can per 10 lb, one can lasts a 15 lb dog about two days and a 30 lb dog about a day. Fromm also packs this can in cases of 12, which would last a 30 lb dog about 12 days. These are close estimates worked out from Fromm's recommendation.

Storage

Cover and refrigerate any unused portion and use it within a few days. Unopened cans keep best somewhere cool and dry.
