Is this uncomfortable or unsafe for my dog?
No. There is nothing sharp, no static, no electronics. The protectors are rigid angled panels that make the cushion an awkward surface to lie on, so the dog simply chooses the floor or their own bed instead.
Will it work on cats?
Often, though cats are less predictable than dogs. Cats will use a narrow ledge a dog will not bother with, so results vary by cat.
How many protectors do I need?
Start with one per seat cushion. If your dog climbs onto the arms or the back of the couch, add coverage there. DoggOffIt's sizing chart on their product pages walks through the common sofa layouts.
Do I have to leave them out all the time?
Most people use them when they are out of the house or overnight, then stack them away when they want to use the couch. After a few weeks a lot of dogs stop trying altogether.
