**Q: Is the dog park free?**

A: Yes! The Hungry Puppy Dog Park is free and open to the public. It's a community space for you and your pups to enjoy.

---

**Q: Where is the dog park located?**

A: It's located at The Hungry Puppy, 1288 Highway 33, Farmingdale, NJ.

---

**Q: Do I need a reservation?**

A: No reservation is needed for regular use — just come on by! We do offer private rentals and birthday parties if you'd like to book the space for a special occasion.

---

**Q: Can I rent the park for a party or private event?**

A: Yes! Private rentals and birthday parties are available. Stop in or contact us to book and get details.

---

**Q: Are there separate areas for large and small dogs?**

A: Yes — we have two separate parks, so dogs can be split up when needed (for example, large dogs and small dogs). If you have a smaller dog, we recommend using the small dog area, since even a friendly large dog can accidentally injure a little one just by running, jumping, or putting a paw on them.

---

**Q: How does the double-gate entry work?**

A: Our park has a double-gate (airlock) entry. Enter through the first gate, close it completely behind you, then open the second gate to go into the play area. Never open both gates at the same time — keeping one closed at all times prevents dogs from escaping. Be aware of anyone entering or exiting in front of or behind you, and please make sure each gate latches fully every time you come and go.

---

**Q: Is there water for my dog?**

A: Yes, and it's free! We have water bowls and water available. If a bowl needs filling, just come into the store and we'll fill it up for you.

---

**Q: Is there shade or a place to sit?**

A: Yes, the park is partially shaded and has an area with a table and chairs.

---

**Q: Can I bring my children to the dog park?**

A: You enter at your own risk, and any children you bring are your responsibility and must be kept with you at all times. Running, playing dogs can accidentally knock over or scare young kids, and unruly or unsupervised children can cause problems for unfamiliar dogs — sometimes triggering fear or defensive reactions. We recommend leaving small children at home when possible, but if they come along, please keep them close and under control at all times.

---

**Q: What are the dog park rules?**

A: Please follow these rules so the park stays safe and fun for everyone:

- You enter at your own risk. You are responsible for your dog and their behavior at all times.

- Children must stay with you at all times. If you bring children, they are your responsibility. Unruly or unsupervised children can cause problems for dogs who don't know them and may trigger fear or defensive reactions. We recommend leaving small children at home, but if they come with you, they must remain with you at all times.

- Never open both gates at once. Use our double-gate (airlock) system correctly — close the first gate completely before opening the second. Pay attention to anyone entering or exiting in front of or behind you, and make sure every gate latches fully.

- Dogs must be under voice command control. You should be able to call your dog back to you at any time.

- Clean up after your dog. Scoop, bag, and dispose of waste properly — it keeps the park clean and prevents the spread of parasites and bacteria.

- Rabies vaccine required. All dogs must have a current rabies vaccine, and we recommend being up to date on all vaccinations.

- Stay present and supervise. Keep your eyes on your dog rather than your phone, so you can step in quickly if play gets too rough.

- Remove your dog's leash before entering the play area. Leashed dogs among off-leash dogs can feel trapped, which may lead to tension. Keep the leash handy in case you need it quickly.

- Don't crowd the gate. If your dog is already inside, move away from the entrance so newcomers can enter calmly.

- Leave female dogs in heat at home. A dog in heat can excite or upset other dogs and lead to conflict.

- Skip food and toys. Treats, chews, and toys can trigger guarding or competition between dogs, so it's best to leave them out of the play area.

- Keep sick or injured dogs home. If your dog isn't feeling well, wait until they've recovered to protect the other pups.

**Q: What should I do if my dog is being aggressive or getting too wound up?**

A: Watch your dog's body language. Warning signs include a stiff or very upright posture, hard staring, raised hackles, curled lips, or growling and snapping. If your dog is bullying, humping, resource guarding, or getting overly aroused, calmly leash them and take a break or head home. It's not a punishment — it just keeps everyone safe. If your dog has a history of fighting or has bitten another dog or person, please exercise them another way instead of at the park.

---

**Q: What if another dog is being aggressive toward mine?**

A: Stay calm and remove your dog from the situation. You can politely ask the other owner to step in, or simply leash up and leave. Never reach into the middle of a scuffle with your hands — dog fights can be dangerous. Trust your instincts: if a situation doesn't feel right, it's always okay to leave.

---

**Q: What does healthy play look like?**

A: Good play is bouncy and takes turns — dogs chase and get chased, offer "play bows" (front down, rear up), and bigger dogs soften their play for smaller ones. Step in if play becomes one-sided, if one dog is clearly trying to get away, or if the mood shifts from loose and relaxed to tense.

---

**Q: Is the park good for the whole community?**

A: Absolutely — it's an outdoor space open to the # The Hungry Puppy Dog Park — Chatbot FAQ
