Stella & Chewy's Chewy's Purely Pork Meal Mixers
Pork, pork liver, pork bone, pork kidney. We read the whole list line by line and pork is the only animal species in it. No chicken, no beef, no fish, no egg, not even a fish oil at the bottom.
Why that's worth saying out loud
Because "single protein" on a bag front doesn't always survive a read of the back. Stella's own Itty Bitty Beef Lil' Bites carries a single-source-protein bullet and lists salmon oil as its final ingredient. Their Duck Duck Goose recipes list turkey second despite the name.
This one holds up. If you are working through an elimination diet with your vet, that matters more than anything else on the page.
Pork is also genuinely uncommon in American dog food, so a dog that has eaten chicken and beef its whole life has most likely never been exposed to it. That's the reasoning for trying it, and it's a reasonable one to discuss with your vet... we're not in a position to tell you it will fix anything, and we've deliberately left Stella's own claims about allergies off this page.
Stella puts the recipe at 95% farm-raised pork, organs and bone.
Four pork components, including kidney
Muscle meat, liver, bone and kidney. Kidney in particular is uncommon outside Stella's beef and lamb recipes.
One oddity in the published order worth a mention: fenugreek seed sits fourth, ahead of the pork kidney and the pumpkin seed. In every other Stella recipe we've read, fenugreek sits well down the list after the produce. Either this recipe genuinely uses more of it or the list order is a website quirk... we don't know, and we're printing it as published rather than tidying it up.
Where it sits in the line
40% protein, 37% fat, 5,259 kcal/kg, 58 calories a quarter cup.
| Meal Mixers recipe | Protein | Fat | kcal per ¼ cup |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chewy's Chicken | 48% | 28% | 50 |
| Stella's Super Beef | 41% | 35% | 56 |
| Tantalizing Turkey | 40% | 36% | 58 |
| Chewy's Purely Pork | 40% | 37% | 58 |
| Dandy Lamb | 38% | 38% | 59 |
| Duck Duck Goose | 38% | 38% | 60 |
| Surf 'N Turf | 45% | 34% | 62 |
So it sits in the rich half of the line, almost exactly alongside the turkey. At 37% fat, a dog with a pancreatitis history or one on a vet-prescribed low-fat diet needs that vet's view first. If you want Stella's leanest topper, that's the chicken at 50 calories a quarter cup.
A note on sourcing those two numbers: Stella's own page renders the calorie line in broken fragments, so we checked the figures against each other. 58 kcal in a quarter cup at 5,259 kcal/kg works out to about 11.0 grams per quarter cup, which is right in line with every other recipe in the Meal Mixers line. The two numbers agree, so we've published them.
About peas, lentils and potatoes
Stella prints a "pea-free, lentil-free and potato-free" bullet on most of their recipes and does not print it on this one.
What we can tell you is what the ingredient list says: there are no peas, no lentils and no potatoes anywhere in it. We're reporting the missing bullet because you'd notice it if you compared pages, and an absent claim isn't the same as a present ingredient.
The probiotics, named
Four fermentation products in the list: Pediococcus acidilactici, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium longum and Bacillus coagulans. Stella publishes no CFU count for this product, so we can't give you one.

Feeding guidelines
Stella publishes two charts. Cups mean a level standard 8-fluid-ounce dry measuring cup... Stella doesn't define the cup on this particular page, but they do on others in the line and it's the standard for all of them.
As a mixer or topper, on top of your dog's regular food:
| Your dog's weight | Cups per day |
|---|---|
| 1-20 lb | ¼ |
| 21-40 lb | ½ |
| 41 lb and up | ¾ or more |
As a complete meal:
| Your dog's weight | Cups per day |
|---|---|
| 5 lb | ½ |
| 10 lb | ¾ |
| 15 lb | 1 |
| 20 lb | 1¼ |
| 40 lb | 2 |
| 60 lb | 2¾ |
| 80 lb | 3½ |
| 100 lb | 4½ |
Stella notes puppies may need up to twice the adult amount. Split the daily amount across two meals and adjust to your dog's body condition after two or three weeks.
If you top a bowl daily, take those calories off the dinner underneath it.
How to use it
Crumble over the bowl dry, or rehydrate with warm water first, which brings out the smell and often wins over a fussy eater. Stella suggests bone broth as the liquid if you want to go further, and we carry their Bountiful Bone Broth.
Shelf-stable, no refrigeration needed.
Sizes
3.5 oz and 18 oz.
On the label statement
Stella & Chewy's does not publish an AAFCO nutritional adequacy statement or a life stage for this product, and they do not describe it as complete and balanced... the only full-meal language on their page is the heading on the feeding chart above. If you intend to feed this as your dog's only food rather than as a topper, ask us and we'll read the bag, and talk to your vet.
