Eight ingredients, and you can read the whole list in one breath: beef bone broth, organic squash, pumpkin, tapioca, gelatin, ginger, turmeric, cinnamon.
That's it. No preservative, no thickener beyond the tapioca and gelatin, no flavoring, no meal, no by-product. For a wet product that's an unusually short list.
What it's actually for
Two jobs, and both are practical rather than magical.
Getting a fussy dog to eat. Pour it over the bowl and the smell changes everything. This is the single most common reason people buy it, and it works.
Getting water into a dog that won't drink. It's 97% moisture. For an older dog, a dog in hot weather, or one that's just come home from the vet and isn't drinking, a pouch of broth over dry food is an easy way to add fluid.
It's also what Stella themselves suggest for rehydrating their freeze-dried patties and Meal Mixers, in place of plain water.
How much to pour
Stella's published guidance, in their words: a quarter cup of broth per day for every 25 lbs of body weight, served over a complete and balanced meal.

Stella also prints the rule plainly: treats or toppers should not make up more than 10% of your dog's daily calories. At 77 calories a pouch that's easy to stay inside... but it does mean you should take those calories off the dinner underneath if you pour it every day.
This is a topper, not a meal. Stella's own instruction is to serve it over a complete and balanced meal, and nothing on their page authorizes feeding it alone. At 1% protein it couldn't carry a dog anyway. If you have a dog that's stopped eating solid food, that's a vet conversation, not a broth one.

Three times the protein and 26% more calories in the chicken. Their ingredient lists differ too... the chicken version uses ground pumpkin seeds where this one uses pumpkin. Pick on the protein your dog tolerates, but know they aren't interchangeable on the numbers.

Grain-free and gluten-free, which the ingredient list supports. Stella states it is 100% human grade and made in the USA, and it comes in a resealable BPA-free pouch you can pour from and close again.
On the label statement
Stella publishes no AAFCO statement for this product. That's normal for a topper rather than a complete food, and their own serving instruction already tells you to pour it over a balanced meal. Treat it as a supplement to the diet, not part of it.
Storage
Reseal and refrigerate after opening, as with any wet food. Use within a few days.
