Hay amounts are recommended minimums; if feeding more hay, the feed rate may be reduced while maintaining body condition. Do not feed less than 0.3 lb per 100 lb body weight per day for maintenance (3 lb per 1,000 lb horse); if the horse gains too much, transition to a ration balancer such as Purina Enrich Plus. Heavy-work horses: adjust rates or top-dress with Purina Amplify High-Fat Supplement; consider Purina SuperSport Amino Acid Supplement. A 4 lb meal supplies a full serving of Outlast. Feed at regular times, at least twice daily; do not feed free-choice. Always feed at least 1.0-1.2 lb quality hay or pasture equivalent per 100 lb body weight. Make feed changes gradually over 7-10 days. Provide fresh clean water and salt at all times. Store dry, protected from rodents and insects; do not feed moldy or insect-infested feed.
