Instinct RawBoost+ Mixers Cage-Free Chicken Recipe for Cats
Know Before You Buy
- Not a complete meal on its own. Instinct sells RawBoost Mixers as a topper or treat to add to your cat's regular food.
- Animal proteins in this recipe: Chicken (chicken including ground chicken bone, chicken liver, chicken heart), turkey (turkey liver, turkey heart), salmon oil.
- Contains: Chicken ... Turkey ... Fish (salmon oil) ... Pumpkinseeds ... Flaxseed.
- Does not contain: Beef, pork, egg, dairy, grains, potatoes or peas (per the manufacturer's ingredient list).
- Chicken and turkey. Turkey liver and turkey heart are in it too, so it isn't a chicken-only topper.
- Life stage: Instinct's label says this product is intended for intermittent or supplemental feeding only. Feed it alongside a complete and balanced food.
A little crumble of freeze-dried raw over the bowl is one of the easiest ways to win over a picky cat. Instinct's RawBoost+ Mixers Cage-Free Chicken Recipe is a freeze-dried raw topper made from chicken, organ meats and a short list of produce, meant to be sprinkled over your cat's usual food or given as a treat.
What's actually in it
Chicken, including ground chicken bone, leads the list, followed by chicken liver and chicken heart. Turkey liver and turkey heart add more organ meat. Instinct says the ingredients are never cooked... they're freeze-dried raw... and the chicken is raised without antibiotics or added hormones.
Pumpkinseeds, carrots, apples, butternut squash, broccoli and blueberries make up the plant side, with ground flaxseed and salmon oil for omega fatty acids. Instinct includes these to support digestion and skin and coat. Mixed tocopherols and rosemary extract keep it fresh.
Who it suits, and who it doesn't
It suits a cat who needs a little encouragement at the bowl, and a family that wants to add some freeze-dried raw without switching foods entirely.
It isn't right for a cat avoiding chicken, turkey or fish, and it isn't meant to be fed as the whole meal. If you're unsure, our Personal Pet Consultant is happy to help ... call 732-938-4470.

Calorie content
Metabolizable Energy = 4,599 kcal/kg; 16 kcal/tbsp (calculated)
Whatever you add to the bowl counts toward the day's calories, which is why Instinct asks you to trim the main meal a little.
Feeding guidelines
This product is intended for intermittent or supplemental feeding only. Add Instinct® RawBoost™ Mixers® to your cat's current food using the chart below. Remember to reduce the calorie amount of your current food accordingly to avoid overfeeding.
| Weight of cat | Tablespoons per day* | Calories per day* |
|---|---|---|
| 5 lb | 1 | 16 |
| 10 lb | 2 | 32 |
| 15 lb | 3 | 48 |
*Based on feeding two meals per day.
Crumble a small amount over the bowl, or offer a piece by hand as a treat. Always keep fresh water out.
These are freeze-dried raw, so handle them the way you'd handle raw meat: wash your hands, bowls and any scoops or surfaces after serving, and pick up anything your cat doesn't finish.
Calories, AAFCO statement and feeding guide transcribed from Instinct's product label as shown on its website. Recipes can change, so the label in hand always governs.
Sizes
6 oz bag. By Instinct's calorie figures that's roughly 49 level tablespoons, so a 10 lb cat getting Instinct's 2 tablespoons a day would take about 3 ½ weeks to finish a bag. That's a close estimate, since pieces vary in size.
Storage
Reseal the bag after each use and keep it somewhere cool and dry. Instinct's general guidance is that an opened bag of freeze-dried food stays fresh for up to 30 days.
