Instinct Minced Cups Rabbit Recipe Wet Cat Food
Know Before You Buy
- Animal proteins in this recipe: Pork (pork broth, pork liver, pork), farm-raised rabbit, egg product.
- Contains: Pork ... Rabbit ... Egg ... Peas (dried ground peas) ... Flaxseed.
- Does not contain: Grain, potato, corn, wheat, soy, chicken, beef, lamb or fish (per the manufacturer's ingredient list).
- Pork comes first. Pork broth is the first ingredient, and pork liver and pork follow rabbit, so this is a rabbit and pork recipe rather than a rabbit-only diet.
- Life stage: Instinct's AAFCO statement covers all life stages, kittens through seniors.
Minced Cups Rabbit is Instinct's grain-free rabbit recipe in a fine, minced texture with gravy, packed in a 3.5 oz single-serve cup with a peel-off lid. No can opener, no leftover can in the fridge... just peel, serve and go. Instinct formulates it to be complete and balanced for all life stages.
What's actually in it
Rabbit is the second ingredient, right after pork broth, with pork liver and pork right behind it and egg product after that. Dried ground peas add plant protein, and spinach, carrots, artichokes, cranberries, pumpkin, tomato, blueberries, broccoli, cabbage, kale and parsley make up the produce. Ground flaxseed and flaxseed oil supply omega fatty acids. Guar and xanthan gums give the gravy its body. There's no chicken and no fish ingredient on Instinct's web ingredient list.
Who it suits, and who it doesn't
It suits a healthy cat of any age that likes a finer, minced texture, and households that want an easy single-serve portion. With no chicken on the list, it's a handy option for a cat that's been rotating away from chicken.
It isn't the right cup for a cat that needs to avoid pork or egg, or a cat sensitive to peas, and with this much pork in it, it shouldn't be treated as a novel-protein rabbit diet. If you're unsure, our Personal Pet Consultant is happy to help ... call 732-938-4470.

Instinct® Minced Real Rabbit Entrée is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Cat Food Nutrient Profiles for all life stages.
Calorie content
Calorie content (calculated): ME = 744 kcal/kg ... 74 kcal per 3.5 oz cup.
Feeding guidelines
Instinct's published daily amount for adult cats (Instinct calls each cup a "bowl"):
| Adult cat body weight | Daily amount |
|---|---|
| Per 6 to 8 lb of body weight | 2½ to 3 cups per day |
Instinct also notes that ideal feeding amounts will vary by age, weight and activity level, and to feed at room temperature, refrigerate any unused portion and always provide clean, fresh water.
Think of this as a starting point. Kittens, and cats that are pregnant or nursing, usually need more, and if you also feed dry food, cut back the cups to match. Check your cat's body condition after two or three weeks... ribs easy to feel under a thin layer, a waist visible from above... and adjust.
Switching over
Change foods gradually over about a week. Start with roughly a quarter Minced Cups mixed into the old food, move to half, then three quarters, then all Minced Cups. Going slowly gives your cat's stomach time to adjust.
Sizes, and how long a case lasts
We carry single 3.5 oz cups and cases of 12. Following Instinct's guide of 2½ to 3 cups per day for a cat in the 6 to 8 lb range, a case of 12 lasts about 4 days on its own, and longer if your cat also eats dry food.
Storage
Store unopened cups somewhere cool and dry. Instinct recommends feeding at room temperature and refrigerating any unused portion. Cover it and use it within a few days.
