Know Before You Buy
- Animal proteins in this recipe: Salmon, salmon broth, pork liver, salmon oil.
- Contains: Fish (salmon, salmon broth, salmon oil) ... Pork (pork liver) ... Grains (whole oats, brown rice).
- Does not contain: Chicken, beef, lamb, duck, turkey, egg, dairy, corn, wheat, soy, peas, lentils, chickpeas, potatoes or yeast (per the manufacturer's ingredient list).
- Chicken-free, but not a single-protein fish food. Salmon leads, but pork liver is the fourth ingredient, so this is not suitable for a dog avoiding pork.

Fromm built this pâté as the canned companion to their Nutritionals Sensitive Skin & Stomach kibble. It comes from Fromm Family Foods, a family-owned company in Mequon, Wisconsin, and it's made without chicken, with salmon as the lead protein. Fromm designed it to support skin, coat and digestive health, and it's complete enough to be a full meal at any life stage.
What's actually in it
Salmon and salmon broth are the first two ingredients, followed by pumpkin and pork liver. Whole oats and brown rice are the grains. The guaranteed analysis includes omega-3 (0.4% min) and omega-6 (0.8% min) fatty acids, which Fromm includes, along with salmon oil, to support skin and coat.
For the digestive side, Fromm combines pumpkin, apples, ground miscanthus grass, psyllium seed husk and dried plain beet pulp as dietary fiber, plus a probiotic (dried Lactobacillus acidophilus fermentation product), which they include to support digestive health. Xanthan gum and agar-agar hold the pâté together.
Who it suits, and who it doesn't
It suits a dog whose family is avoiding chicken and wants a fish-forward, grain-inclusive wet food, on its own or over the matching dry Sensitive Skin & Stomach. Because Fromm's AAFCO statement covers all life stages, it can be fed to puppies, including large breed puppies, as well as adults. Fromm positions this as a health-focused recipe, so a dog with a diagnosed skin or digestive condition should be fed under a veterinarian's guidance.

These are starting points, not prescriptions. Fromm notes that puppies, and dogs that are pregnant or nursing, may need two to four times more food, and spayed or neutered dogs may need up to 25% less. If you mix it with dry food, Fromm notes that one can replaces approximately one cup of dry Nutritionals Sensitive Skin & Stomach. Check your dog's body condition after two or three weeks... ribs easy to feel under a thin layer, a waist visible from above... and adjust. Always keep fresh water out.
Switching over
Change foods gradually over about a week. Start with roughly a quarter Sensitive Skin & Stomach Pâté mixed into the old food, move to half, then three quarters, then all of the new food. Going slowly gives your dog's stomach time to adjust.
Sizes, and how long a case lasts
Sold here as a single 13 oz can. For a 10 lb dog eating ½ can a day with nothing else, one can covers about two days. For a 30 lb dog at 1¾ cans a day, a case of 12 would last just under a week. Fromm packs this pâté 12 cans to a case. Can counts are worked out from Fromm's feeding chart and are close estimates.
Storage
Fromm doesn't publish separate guidance for opened cans, so follow the usual rule: cover and refrigerate any unused portion and use it within a few days. Unopened cans keep best somewhere cool and dry.
