Fromm Crunchy Os Bacon Blasters Dog Treats
Know Before You Buy
- A treat, not a meal. Fromm states this product is intended to be fed in moderation as a treat and is not a complete diet.
- Animal proteins in this recipe: Bacon, cheese, dried egg product, pork fat.
- Contains: Pork (bacon, pork fat) ... Dairy (cheese) ... Egg ... Grains (roasted barley flour) ... Chickpeas, peas and pea starch ... Potatoes.
- Does not contain: Chicken, beef, fish, corn, wheat or soy (per the manufacturer's ingredient list).
- Not grain-free. It looks like the chickpea-based Crunchy Os, but roasted barley flour is on the list. Bacon and pork fat make it a pork treat, and it also contains cheese and egg.
- Life stage: Fromm does not publish an AAFCO life stage statement for this treat. It is labeled as a treat, not a complete diet.
Bacon Blasters is the Crunchy O for bacon fans, with real bacon, cheese and a hickory smoke flavor baked into a small, very crunchy ring. Fromm Family Foods, a family-owned company in Mequon, Wisconsin, makes it for dogs of every size, and each piece is about 2 calories.
What's actually in it
Chickpeas and peas make up the base, with bacon third, followed by potatoes and pea starch. Cheese, dried egg product and apples come next, then pork fat and roasted barley flour, so this recipe does contain a grain. The smoky taste comes from natural hickory smoke flavor, and Fromm preserves it with mixed tocopherols (a natural source of vitamin E).
Who it suits, and who it doesn't
It suits a healthy dog that does well with pork, dairy, egg and barley, and families who want a small, savory, chicken-free and beef-free reward.
It isn't the right bag for a dog avoiding pork, dairy, egg, grains or legumes. If you're unsure, our Personal Pet Consultant is happy to help ... call 732-938-4470.

AAFCO statement
Fromm does not publish an AAFCO nutritional adequacy statement for this treat. Their feeding statement reads: "This product is intended to be fed in moderation as a treat and is not a complete diet. Treats must be counted towards the total daily calories your pet consumes and should be limited to less than 10% of your pet's total daily caloric intake."
Calorie content
3,527 kcal/kg ... 1,603 kcal/lb ... 2 kcal per treat (metabolizable energy, calculated).
Feeding guidelines
Fromm doesn't publish a pieces-per-day chart by weight for this treat, so check the bag for any guide printed there. Their rule of thumb is to count treats toward your dog's daily calories and keep them under 10% of the day's total. At 2 calories a piece, that leaves plenty of room for training, but if you hand out a lot of them, trim your dog's regular meals a little to make up for it. Always keep fresh water out.
Sizes
6 oz and 26 oz bags.
Storage
Reseal the bag after each use and keep it somewhere cool and dry.
