Dr. Marty Joey's Favorite Freeze-Dried Raw Salmon Dog Treats
One ingredient: raw salmon, freeze-dried. No binder, no preservative, no flavouring. The whole label is the word salmon.
What makes this one different from a liver treat
Dr. Marty publishes a 2% omega-3 figure for these, and that is the thing worth noticing. Most single-ingredient treats are chosen for palatability... liver works because dogs would do almost anything for liver. A salmon treat with a real omega-3 number behind it is doing a bit more than that, and 2% is a meaningful figure for something you hand over two pieces at a time.
It is also the leaner option in Dr. Marty's treat range. Published fat is 5%, against 7% for the beef liver and 11% for the pork liver. For a dog who needs watching on fat, salmon is the sensible pick of the three.
And because it is salmon and nothing else, it suits a dog avoiding poultry or red meat, which is more than you can say for most treats in a shop like ours.

The figures below come from Dr. Marty's published product information. We have not read them off a physical bag in the store, and Dr. Marty's own website has turned out to be wrong on several of its other products... including its pork liver treat, where every published figure disagrees with the package. So treat these as the manufacturer's numbers rather than a verified label panel.

Dr. Marty also states these are intended for intermittent or supplemental feeding only, which is the standard labeling for a treat. It means this is not a meal and should not replace one.
How many to give
Dr. Marty suggests one to two pieces a day. The general rule vets use is that treats should stay under about 10% of a dog's daily calories, so for a small dog, one piece is a treat and four is a meaningful part of dinner.
Freeze-dried salmon breaks cleanly, which makes it good for training... snap a piece into four and you have four rewards rather than one. Fresh water alongside.
Who should skip it
Any dog with a fish allergy. And if you are running an elimination diet, fish is a protein like any other, so a treat can undo weeks of a trial without anyone meaning to.
