Stella & Chewy's Raw Coated Biscuits, Grass-Fed Lamb
Oven-baked biscuits coated in freeze-dried raw, and the organ list on this one is the best of the four recipes by some distance.
Six lamb components, including spleen
Lamb, lamb liver, lamb fat, lamb heart, lamb kidney, lamb spleen and lamb bone. Spleen in a baked biscuit is close to unheard of... it turns up in one other Stella product and essentially nothing else on the shelf.
Stella prints rich in organ meat on all four biscuit recipes. On this one it's justified: four distinct organs plus bone, where their chicken biscuits carry two and their duck biscuits carry turkey organs rather than duck.
There is pork meal in it
At position nine, ahead of every lamb organ except the liver:
- Lamb
- Peas
- Chickpeas
- Lamb Liver
- Lamb Fat
- Cane Molasses
- Sweet Potato
- Natural Vegetable Flavor
- Pork Meal
Pork is not named anywhere on the product. For most dogs that's irrelevant, and the recipe is otherwise genuinely lamb-led. But if you're avoiding pork, or running an elimination diet, it matters and the name won't tell you.
Worth noting too: Stella's bullet says raw, grass-fed lamb, but the ingredient panel lists plain Lamb with no grass-fed qualifier.
The richest of the four biscuits
14% fat and 24 calories a biscuit, both the highest in the range:
| Raw Coated Biscuit | Protein | Fat | kcal/biscuit | kcal/kg |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Duck | 22% | 11% | 22 | 3,684 |
| Chicken | 20% | 11% | 22 | 3,695 |
| Beef | 20% | 11% | 22 | 3,756 |
| Lamb | 20% | 14% | 24 | 3,932 |
Three points more fat than the other three and the highest calorie density. If your dog is on a low-fat diet or has a pancreatitis history, the chicken or duck biscuits are the gentler choice... and ask your vet either way.
There is sugar in these
Cane molasses sits at position six, in all four Raw Coated Biscuit recipes. It's there for binding and palatability, and the amount is small at that position, but it is a sugar and we'd rather name it than let you find it in the small print.
If sugar is something you're watching, Stella's freeze-dried single-ingredient treats contain exactly one thing each and no sweetener.
How many to give
Stella publishes no treat count and no dog-size guidance for these, and no "10% of daily calories" line either, though they do print that on their bone broths.
So here's ours: at 24 calories a biscuit, the usual rule of keeping treats to around 10% of daily calories works out to roughly two a day for a 20 lb dog, more for a bigger one. Your vet can give you your dog's actual daily number.

On the label statement
Stella publishes no AAFCO statement for these, and no "for intermittent or supplemental feeding only" line, which is what you'd normally expect on a treat. Its absence doesn't make a biscuit a complete food. These are treats... keep them to around 10% of the day's calories and let a balanced food do the rest.
Storage and serving
Shelf-stable, no refrigeration needed. Break larger biscuits down for a small dog and give with fresh water nearby. Supervise, as with any treat.
