Pumpkin Kran POW is Fromm's autumn-flavored Crunchy O: turkey, cranberries and pumpkin baked into a small, very crunchy ring. Fromm Family Foods is a family-owned company in Mequon, Wisconsin, and their Crunchy Os line is built for training pockets and everyday good-dog moments. At about 2 calories apiece, they're easy to hand out without blowing up the day's food.

What's actually in it

This is a grain-free treat. The base is chickpeas, peas, potatoes and pea starch, with turkey third on the list. Liver comes after the sunflower oil, and Fromm lists it simply as "Liver" without saying which animal it comes from. Cranberries and pumpkin give the flavor its name, and dried egg product adds a little more protein. Tapioca helps bind the ring, and the oils are preserved with mixed tocopherols (a natural source of vitamin E).

Who it suits, and who it doesn't

It suits a healthy dog that does well with turkey and egg and a family looking for a small, low-calorie reward with a seasonal flavor. Because each piece is only about 2 calories, it works well for training sessions with lots of repetitions.
