Fromm calls it a savory snack, dessert or well-deserved reward, and that's exactly how it fits into the day... a crunchy, good-sized treat for the moments that count.
What's actually in it
Chicken is the first ingredient, and chicken fat is the only added fat, so chicken is the one animal protein in this biscuit. Peas and carrots are in the name, and peas in particular do a lot of the work here.
The rest of the recipe is the same base Fromm uses across the Four-Star treat line: pea flour, potato flour, tapioca and whole peas to hold the biscuit together, then a long run of fruit and vegetables including cranberries, sweet potatoes, carrots, apples, green beans, bell peppers, celery, beets, parsley, lettuce and spinach. There are no grains in the ingredient list. The only added fat is chicken fat, preserved with mixed tocopherols (a natural source of vitamin E).
Who it suits, and who it doesn't
It suits a dog with no known sensitivities who likes a crunchy biscuit, and families who want a grain-free treat (no grains appear in the ingredient list).
