Fromm Crunchy Os Blueberry Blasts Flavor Dog Treats

Fromm Crunchy Os Blueberry Blasts Dog Treats

Blueberry Blasts sounds like a fruit snack, but it's really a chicken treat with blueberries mixed in. It's part of the Crunchy Os line from Fromm Family Foods, a family-owned company in Mequon, Wisconsin: small, very crunchy rings at about 2 calories apiece.

What's actually in it

This is a grain-free treat. Chickpeas and peas lead, then chicken, potatoes and pea starch. Liver follows, listed by Fromm without a species. Blueberries come after the sunflower oil, with dried egg product, tapioca and coconut oil rounding it out. The oils are preserved with mixed tocopherols (a natural source of vitamin E).

Who it suits, and who it doesn't

It suits a healthy dog that does well with chicken and egg, and families who want a small, low-calorie reward with a fruity twist.

It isn't the right bag for a dog avoiding chicken, egg, legumes or potatoes. If you're unsure, our Personal Pet Consultant is happy to help ... call 732-938-4470.

AAFCO statement

Fromm does not publish an AAFCO nutritional adequacy statement for this treat. Their feeding statement reads: "This product is intended to be fed in moderation as a treat and is not a complete diet. Treats must be counted towards the total daily calories your pet consumes and should be limited to less than 10% of your pet's total daily caloric intake."

Calorie content

3,405 kcal/kg ... 1,548 kcal/lb ... 2 kcal per treat (metabolizable energy, calculated).

Feeding guidelines

Fromm doesn't publish a pieces-per-day chart by weight for this treat, so check the bag for any guide printed there. Their rule of thumb is to count treats toward your dog's daily calories and keep them under 10% of the day's total. At 2 calories a piece, that leaves plenty of room for training, but if you hand out a lot of them, trim your dog's regular meals a little to make up for it. Always keep fresh water out.

Sizes

6 oz and 26 oz bags.

Storage

Reseal the bag after each use and keep it somewhere cool and dry.
