Mid-March is when the real shedding begins. As daylight lengthens, dogs and cats begin loosening thick winter undercoats in preparation for warmer weather. Keep the home clean without losing your mind. Vacuuming more often, shaking out beds, and washing blankets weekly helps control the fur explosion. Consider rotating blankets so your pet sheds in predictable spots. Cats especially love freshly washed bedding in spring sunshine.
